2. Where are the best places to visit to get a good insight to Providence's history?

Start at Roger Williams National Memorial, there is a video that gives you a good sense of history. Also the Providence Preservation Society at 21 Meeting Street is a good place to start.

3. What type of tours does Providence offer?

4. What are the best things to do with children?

Providence Children's Museum, Roger Williams Park & Zoo, Slater Mill, RISD Museum of Art, Museum of Natural History & Planetarium, skate at Fleet Skating Center.

5. How can I get around Providence without a car?

Taxi or the Providence link, which is a trolley providing local transportation for $1.

6. I'm unable to find accommodations. Can you help?

The bureau does not make hotel reservations, however it suggests you contact Citywide Reservation Services @ 888-248-9121.

7. How long does it take to drive from:
     New York?
3 1/2 hours.
     Hartford? 1hr. 45 min.
     Boston? 1 hr.

8. Is the city safe?

Yes! But, just as in any big city, you should use caution. Never walk alone at night and only walk in well lit areas.

9. Where can I park?

There are a number of locations in the downtown area. The mall alone has 4,500 new spaces with the convention center offering approximately 2,500 new spaces.
